The third: When it runs out of energy Have you ever played with magnets? If you have, then you may know that they stick to certain metals (like steel). Okay, but how do you build an electromagnet? You can make one by gathering some relatively common items: copper wire, a nail, the battery and possibly a small magnet. Of course it is all basic science, but this super fun experiment demonstrates how electricity can make magnetism.

A sample project with relatively simple components that all students may have access to, is the construction of an electric motor.
