Soldering: Solder is a metal alloy used to join two other pieces of metal together. This process is highly essential in electronics and crafts. For example, if we want to solder two pieces of a metal, first heat those metals and then apply the small quantity of tin on them. However, at any rate inexperience soldering wires may be problem if you are working with enameled Wires. There are differing factors with enameled wires because they have a thin coating. We have to solder them, but first this layer has to be removed. This post is a beginner guide of how to solder enamel wires We will point you in the direction of success, provide the tools and show you how to do everything. You will require some basic tools to perform a successful solder operation. A soldering iron and some wire-building tools are going to be used for this process. The metal soldering iron is used in conductivity, while the wires are just there for ensuring connection. The insulation on the wire is cut with a wire stripper. Enameled wires — sandpaper or emery cloth to strip the rest of a protective coating from these types. You need to stripe the jacket off before soldering. So, I thought of writing a step-by-step guide on how to solder enameled wires.
To start, you will need to strip the wire about ½ an inch of its sheath. This is a significant bridge; the solder will not grasp with coating still on. For one, you can use a wire stripper to do this job more easily and safely. After you have stripped the wire, the next thing to do is take some sandpaper or emery cloth and start rubbing them. Sanding is an important step as it strips off the remaining coat and reveals how to get your copper wire. Go gentle because you do not want to damage the wire.
Then, see to it that you are using a properly pre-heated soldering iron before adding the heat. Hold the soldering iron on the wire for a few seconds, allowing it to heat evenly throughout. This is an important step because if the wire isn't hot enough, the solder doesn't melt.
Now that all the parts are in place it is time to solder. Tap the solder wire on to this hot wire to melt it. Be sure to cover the whole connection in plenty of solder. This will make sure that the joint is super tight.
Enameled wires are special wire having a thin layer of insulation made by enamel which also known as varnish. It is sheathing layer and prevents wire from the damage. It avoids short circuit and the wire is safe from moistening or oxidizing. But in order to be able to solder these wires, we first need remove this insulating layer. That is also why you need to use some sandpaper or emery cloth in order to strip the insulation from the wire ends as shown here. Because enameled wires need much more heat to work with than regular wire, you should use a heavy (high-temperature) soldering iron.
